Located 45 minutes drive from Phuket International Airport and 15
km from Phuket Town is Patong. Well known for its natural beauty
with white powdery sand and pristine blue waters Patong Beach is
great for swimming, sunbathing and water sports. Stretching a modest
4 km in a lazy half circle shape Patong Beach may not be the longest
beach on the island, but it is by far the most popular. During the
day umbrellas and deck chairs dot the beach, set out in neat rows
by enterprising Thais who rent them out for about 50 baht a day.
When the sun goes down and the beach goes quiet the streets of Patong
come alive with diners, shoppers and clubbers all out for a good
time.
That said Patong Beach has the largest selection of hotels and resorts.
However only a few hotels are located directly on the beach. Most
hotels will be just across Thawiwong Road, a small 2 lane street.
To avoid any confusion the hotels listed in this section are either
directly on the beach or directly access Thawiwong Road. (Other
hotels in Patong are listed in the Patong - Other section.)
With the exception of one or two hotels, hotels along Thawiwong
Rd. are small to medium size 3 and 4 star properties, locally owned
& managed. FYI, in order to remain objective, hotels are listed
in alphabetical order. We don't favor any hotel for any reason.
